Photo of Title for trade in. How??

I chose to trade in my car to Tesla. I was instructed to upload pictures of my car and the final photo needs to be a copy of the title. But I don’t have possession of the title since I’m still paying off my loan. So My loan company has the title. What do I do? I tried calling my delivery specialist but she hasn’t called me back yet.

Call your bank. They should be able to send you a pic of the title.

Don’t worry about it! I got my car today. You just need the registration of the car you’re trading in. You don’t need the title if the loan company has it.

You should have your title. My XV is financed and JPM Chase owns the loan. I have a copy of the title which says that it is liened by JPM Chase. It was mailed to me weeks after purchase.

I’ve never had a copy of the title for any of the many vehicles I’ve had loans on through many banks in many states over the years. Yours sounds like an anomaly!

They came in the same as CarMax. There are a few sites like carvana and vroom who offer a little more competitive rates.

Going to re-boot this thread, apologies in advance.

How long did it take for Tesla to pay-off the trade? I have no problems continuing to make payments to keep the account current, but I would like this resolved quickly and know how to get back the amount I over-paid.

Correct, NY is one of the few that gives titles with liens to people.
