I think the thick lip works way better dark than in the original light color. But yeah v1 sport wheels just look better, I also don't understand how the v2 lip passed muster, makes the wheel look super heavy.

Is there a way to tell ahead of time if it needs to be spliced? Either by looking at a part or car model year?
I think it’s more dependent on which trim you have, i.e., SR+/LR/P. I saw this video from RPM Tesla with a “second gen” fog light kit that does not require splicing into the signal on the fender:

After waiting a couple of months and almost purchasing a used Tesla, I finally took delivery on September 24th.
Ordered on August 15th with original delivery date of December. Changed the seats to white and was contacted 2 hours later. Love the car. Had some alignment and scratch issues which was fixed.
