Can someone post pictures of their Model S with 19 inch wheels? I really want to see how the 19's look on the car opposed to all the 21's I have been seeing. Another thing i'm interested in knowing is if the suspension needed to be adjusted for the 19 inch wheel size?
Here is part of a sig red with 19". (And a bonus sig red with 21" nearby for comparison): - - - Updated - - - I think suspension was set "very high" on these because it just came off the delivery truck:
There are lots of photos in the Model S section. But here is a thread with 22" aftermarkets. Model S With 22 Tires * World's First*
I won't be impressed at all until someone puts a 5 1/2 in lift kit with some super swampers on it ....
See High in the Rockies (Cottonwood's Story) - Page 5 for a picture with two red Signatures side by side, one with 21" wheels and one with 19" wheels.
I, for one, FAR prefer the looks of the 19"s to the 21"s, partly because I dislike wheels with a lot of spokes, and also because I'm that rare bird who generally hates the look of huge wheels and super-low-profile tires. I feel the 19"s compliment and enhance the classic beauty of the MS, while the 21"s diminish it by attracting too much attention to themselves. Couple that with less weight, cheaper tires, and theoretically quicker acceleration and better efficiency (Effects of Upsized Wheels and Tires Tested - Tech Dept. - Car and Driver), and they're a win-win.
a couple of my MSP... For a lot of reasons including looks (personal preference for fewer spokes), tire wear, and range, I downgraded my Performance model wheels to 19". 5000 miles and zero regrets There are a few other shots of mine posted here...
Personally I find the 19'' look a little bit too small on the car while the 21'' look a little bit too big. Are there any pics of a MS with 20'' wheels? Those might a great compromise.
