piece of molding loose underneath car - rattling noise

today I noticed a rattling sound coming from below the car. I pull the car over and I noticed in this piece of plastic dangling from below the passenger door side(underside of car):

Ive tucked it in for now

This looks all too common? My wife ran over a curb, and this plastic thing broke, any ideas?
