Plaid hums going backward, but not forward

Does anyone that have a plaid notice that their car hums when reversing but not when in drive.

Not just visually impaired. I had a 30 something year old walk behind me because he didn’t hear it. It’s good for pets and kids as well. It’s a good feature.
