If you are looking to find places to stop along the way to make this trip fun check out Roadtrippers.com, or the AAA has similar services.

They don't know anything about electric car charging, but they do know roadside attractions. Once you have a plan of where to go just put your next destination into your car and it will guide you there. Perhaps at the last Supercharger before you get to your destination you should put in the following destination so you don't arrive at the biggest ball of yarn in the country without enough range to get to the next public charger. The car assumes all destinations have a place to plug in overnight.

ABetterRoutePlanner recommended above is great for figuring out where to spend the night, it lets you see how long charging and driving will take so you can predict where you will be each night so you can make reservations. I find it's easier to judge when you are ready to turn in on the fly so I just drive until we start wanting to lay down and then I have the wife make reservations somewhere ahead. With sites like Hotels.com you can actually save a lot of money by looking for a hotel after they are booked for the night. They are motivated to fill those last few rooms. Don't complain if they don't have a king bed.
