Well, I was going to ask if someone could confirm if the Y rockers were plastic (as they should be)... but by changing the car color online, they appear to be. (I ordered black).

My rockers on the 3 are getting beat to hell with salt, rocks, etc. That's why rocker panels should be a 90 edge to the bottom of the car and hard plastic. not soft car paint and rounded! What 25yr old designed the model 3 rockers for SoCo only?!

Anyway, I guess I'm glad the Y fixed that... so yay :)

Yeah the first gen Model S had plastic rockers (got chewed up but fairly inexpensive to replace) but now the Model S and 3 have the painted rockers, which one could argue is "more premium" but also might be the case of "one less part to make/install"

Glad to see the Model Y hopefully takes practicality in day to day use seriously
