Plastidip Chrome Delete

I decided to do a Plastidip Chrome Delete after seeing a post from someone else on another website. Below are pictures before during and after. I think it turned out really well considering it only cost me about $50 - $60 in materials and about 4 hours of my time. Better than paying $600 - $800 to have it professionally wrapped IMO.

Materials:

3 cans of https://www.amazon.com/Performix-11203-Multi-Purpose-Coating-Aerosol/dp/...

1 of these https://www.amazon.com/Can-Gun1-2012-Premium-Aerosol-Spray/dp/B002EQEE82...

I am thinking of painting my calipers using the G2 Paint Kit but would prefer some input on if I should go with red "to pop" or blue "to match" the car?

I used plastidip quite a bit on my motorcycles, and it would last for years, but over time it tends to flake and get scuffed when brushed against. Luckily it's pretty easy to completely peel off when needed with no lasting effects. Yes looks good.

Ryan, thank you for sharing. I've been planning on doing this to mine as well. I've done some projects with dip that have come out well. But I have a couple of technical questions about this one, as I'm still researching ...

Did you peel the dip off the rubber trim that touches the window? If so, was it a clean break? As I understand, if you don't peel off the rubber trim, it will fail due to opening and closing of the window and the gap between.

I'm also concerned about the tightness of the rubber trim on the rear side windows.

The dip will fail between the rubber trim and the chrome unless there is a true break, as I understand.

Thanks again for sharing!
