Plates

Hello,

I placed an order for a model Y. I sold my car. Tesla in chat told me they can't transfer the plates since the car was sold. I called and talked to someone that said they changed my profile so I would get new plates. My car is looking like it will be delivered soon and I asked via chat if it was ever changed - was told no. Can't get ahold of advisor, tried multiple times.

Does anyone know the real deal with transferring of plates in WA? This seems silly and wasteful...

I called a non tesla licensing office up and they said as long as it was the same type, passenger/truck, etc. But what Tesla does is totally in the air, again got 2 different responses... . The biggest learning lesson is, save your registration from your last car. I didn't do that - and because of that, it's unclear to me if Tesla will transfer them. Very frustrating.
