Hi @eXalentEV and others on this thread:

First of all thanks for all the shared input. Very helpful. I finally picked up my MX. i had a heck of a time dealing with my DA (she would not respond to email or voicemail in a timely fashion - her excuse was she doesnt carry her workphone with her all the time. LOL!) However in the end the actual delivery experience was excellent.

1. 9/24 found my near perfect car, 2016 Blue 90D 6-seater, 20k miles. I say "near" because i was sold on ultra white interior, but this one was tan. Put down deposit. Found out from my sales guy that the car was in Newburgh NY. I live in Detroit. My delivery location options were Cleveland, Columbus or Chicago. I opted to pick up myself. Was told that i can do so in New Jersey. Was cool with that. After an initial welcome mail and a few brief follow up emails, my DA goes silent on me.

2. 9/24 to 10/4 got increasingly frustrated with no news about my delivery date or any updates from the DA.

3. On 10/4 DA says my car is available and can be picked up on 10/5 from NY!! I was excited but confused because i was told my pick up was NJ. DA calls me 10 mins later to apologize and asks me to ignore her previous message. Pickup is still NJ! Date is uncertain.

3. on 10/5, my Tesla account page magically showed the pick up date as 10/12 in Paramus, NJ. Was thrilled and pinged DA. But no response!

4. On 10/8 DA finally confirms date and location. In the meantime the airfare from Detroit to NY/NJ areas has skyrocketed! but whatever ...

5. 10/8 to 10/10 some more confusion about vehicle registration. Apparently Tesla cannot register vehicles in Michigan, so i have to self register. but tesla will collect sales tax of 6% and title fees of $15. DA is unable and unavailable to explain to me what my role in the process is.

6. Finally on 10/10, Chris a delivery specialist from NJ calls me to confirm appointment, payment methods, insurance documents and explains what happens post pickup for registration. I finally sleep well :)

7. Fly out to LGA on 10/11. stay over with a relative and arrive next day at Tesla dealership. finally get to take a good look at the real thing. complete the paperwork. chris gives me a vehicle "orientation" and answers all my questions patiently. take possession of the car and start driving back after a quick lunch on 10/12.

8. Four supercharges and 650miles later my beautiful MX is parked in my garage! The fun begins .... :)

@aljnx06 CONGRATS!!! Sounds like an amazing story you’ll continue sharing. Hopefully you’ll make a few more Tesla converts.
Glad we could pay it forward sharing our experiences. I definitely relied on information I read here.
Also, I’m 15 days in and can’t stop smiling each time I see my car.
