I'd say it's worth checking with Tesla on inventory cars? Not sure if a grant can be applied before actually sold but you never know.... Or arguably, you could purchase a car before midnight tonight and cancel if you can't get the grant.....
PIVG User Guidance Manual said:3.10 A grant is not guaranteed until the vehicle has been validated through the portal. However, provided that the vehicle is registered within 9 months from the date the order is made, any claim placed on the system for a specific customer will be guaranteed to benefit from the grant at the level advertised at the time the claim is made.
PIVG User Guidance Manual said:3.9 We recognise that some manufacturers have long lead times and in this case the order should be started as soon as a ‘contract’ has been signed with the customer.
I think you will find delivery fee gets counted as part of list so LR list is actually £51490.so tesla would have to drop £1500 to get under 50kThe tesla website shows £47,990 before savings on the LR (no options)
Either that or people hoping to get an order in before the decrease in grant.Wonder if it’s been pulled whilst they change the prices as there was about 8 there an hour ago!
I ordered a Model X from Inventory at 16:00 tonight, before I knew anything about the change to the grant or Tesla pulled all the stock off their website - I completed all the paperwork shortly afterwards so will be interesting (to say the least) to see if that one got in under the trap door...The whole thing is more like Indiana Jones grabbing his hat before the trap door slams down!

Ok, quicker update than I was expecting, my sales contact in Bristol has replied to me to say that he is on the case and will put it on the portal when he gets home shortly - restores your faith and all of that!I ordered a Model X from Inventory at 16:00 tonight, before I knew anything about the change to the grant or Tesla pulled all the stock off their website - I completed all the paperwork shortly afterwards so will be interesting (to say the least) to see if that one got in under the trap door...

PIVG User Guidance Manual said:3.2 The plug-in vehicle grant will be taken off the purchase price of the vehicle. For private, business, fleet or demonstration models this means the actual price paid by the customer, including any discount, not the recommended retail price.
This definition of purchase price includes:
• Number plates
• Vehicle excise duty
• VAT (as applicable)
And excludes:
• Any optional extras
• Delivery charges
• First registration fee.
Sounds like you owe him a £3,500 pint!Ok, quicker update than I was expecting, my sales contact in Bristol has replied to me to say that he is on the case and will put it on the portal when he gets home shortly - restores your faith and all of that!![]()
Where does that come from? I assumed it would be the same as for BIK which is:£50,500
typo and I can't edit once posted. grrr Not even a couple of minutes grace!
Not until you’ve got a few posts under your belt...BTW you can edit posts for ages afterwards
OK didn't know that. I think I passed that threshold a while ago.Not until you’ve got a few posts under your belt...
No because a lease is technically a fleet car. The fleet owner will have to pay full price and will pass it downhmm so thats interesting wording though...
"For private, business, fleet or demonstration models this means the actual price paid by the customer, including any discount, not the recommended retail price."
Does that not mean if your leasing it should be possible to get the £3000 as the finance you apply for is only for the cost of the term of the lease and not for the full purchase price of the car, or am mis-interpreting that?

Impossible to say, they probably get a discount from other manufacturers for buying in bulk, but with Tesla there is such high demand I’d doubt they get anything offSo do fleet pay RRP then?

I assumed PIG would be the same but typical govt if they have multiple definitions.

If delivery is excluded tesla can just raise that and drop the list price
