Plugging tires?

agreed. That's why he's my "old" mechanic.

I had a nail in my factory tire back in August 2014 that I had plugged by a local tire shop. That was about 40,000 miles ago and still going strong. I'd take it to a good tire shop and have them plug it.

Just bear in mind that if the tire isn't inspected on the interior, you don't know if there is hidden damage.
