Consumer Reports is lower than NPR.
Actually, Consumer Reports was very careful, very methodical and in this case, went to some effort to confirm the unsat brake distance results. And when they did go the extra mile (or 30 feet), they found the same problem in the second Model 3.
It's quite possible this is a hit-or-miss issue, given the variability in early Model 3 builds. But it would be foolish to just plug your eyes and ears and dismiss Consumer Reports. Because even if you do, many people do not.

NPR is a highly respected news organization consumed by highly educated people.
People who hate it are usually fox news fans - a network started by a guy who said he didn't need to hire investigative journalists, just pretty talking heads on a fancy looking set.
It used to be respected. But now with the russia gate stuff sorry it lost all credibility.

The intelligence agencies and warmongers probably love that russiagate porn but the rest of the electorate (Not just republicans and independents but also many Bernie sanders democrats) are not buying it.

Btw tucker Carlson is doing a good job now. He did a terrible job during the Iraq war but at least he learned something from it, unlike the neo conservatives of CNN and NPR and co.

You can work at Fox News in 2018 and be anti war. You are anti war at MSNBC or CNN you are immediately fired (just ask Ed Schultz). Not sure about NPR but I suspect it is the same thing.

Reporting on the massive and critical russian meddling scandal means they lose credibility? By that logic, the only news sources with credibility would be fox news and breitbart. On the contrary, IGNORING that story means you have no credibility.

No, Russia was ignored until it was no longer convenient and it could be used as a political battering ram, it's the perfect scapegoat for what many at NPR still can't stomach after what occurred in 2016. They're as biased as anybody, and I wouldn't miss them if their public funding dried up. Russia had 0 impact on my vote.

No longer visiting this thread lest I blow a gasket (oops, sorry for the ICE terminology).

I think the part lost in translation is between reality and his brain. He seems totally blindsided by the fact that SpaceX can launch faster and cheaper than anyone else and he does not want to face the reality of the amount of work that it would take to get to where SpaceX is today. He's been living in a protected cocoon of fat contracts with no competition and cannot imagine any other reality.

That is in fact the bottom line of "almost" every government related contract. It is time to keep draining the swamp and let ALL the fat & useless out even down to entities like this. Liberal protectionism at its best..hopefully all of them will die out sooner than later...

I would 100% support civil forfeiture of the vehicle for street racers. It's both a punishment and makes repeat offending much less likely. Too bad if it's a loaner; be careful who you give the keys to.
I was accused of "racing" by a hot under the collar sweating bike cop in Redwood City area once, and at the time I was driving normally. Civil forfeiture is not only against the 4th Amendment to the US Constitution (where that applies), but it is immoral, and no government will survive it long term. It goes against life. USA was founded based on a revolution fought to stop forfeiture. If you're for civil forfeiture, you're probably against USA.

The bike cop realized he was under emotional stress, so did not write an outlandish ticket.

I actually agree with you 100%. Apologies, I used the wrong term. It should be a post-conviction punishment option. Civil forfeiture is all you said it was, and I'll throw in the word "evil" for good measure as well.

Forfeiture occurs all the time, as it should, to prevent (or try to prevent) people from profiting from their crimes. Boats and cars from drug busts, and asset sales to recompense fraud victims, etc.. I bought a ring from the Madoff estate as part of a Marshals sale.

just make the fine really hurt. In Florida poping a wheelie on a motorcycle is $1000 fine first offence, $2500 second, $5000 third and a third degree felony.
