Texas is like a third world country flavored by capitalists. Low wages. Low regulation. Dodgy electricity. Fascist politicians who hate women and minorities. Good place to exploit.
The truth...
California is a third-world country. Low wages. High regulation. Dodgy electricity.

Elon moves the headquarters to a state where you can't buy a Tesla unless you do it on-line and for the foreseeable future will remain with these restrictions. He moves to a state where Governor Abbot has stated that companies moving into Texas are de facto approving of Texas Republican social policies restricting abortion and the right to vote.
This just shows that money has no morality.
As for electric power reliability there is no reason why ERCOT should exists. Texas needs to part of the national grid under NERC. Even after the collapse of Texas power grid last winter there has been no meaningful reform. I guess Elon will just need to build a bigger battery to power his plants.

He was handed the vaccine on a silver platter and blew it by questioning its development and effectiveness during his campaign.

"It is amusing how, in year one of the pandemic, every story about the virus was a “blame Trump” story. Absolutely nothing Biden has done is working, yet Biden really never gets blamed for anything. Sure, Trump said a lot of wacky things, but Biden has told many falsehoods about the virus as well. He stated, for example, that "If you're vaccinated, you're not going to be hospitalized, you're not going to be in the ICU unit and you're not going to die." And then, shortly after those comments, Biden contradicted himself and added that even if vaccinated people do "catch the virus," they are "not likely to get sick."

Further, when discussing the delta variant, Biden stated that vaccines "cover" the delta variant insofar as people will not contract the virus if vaccinated. "You're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,” Biden said."

That article originated in the Washington Examiner.

Washington Examiner

They have an agenda to make Biden look bad.

Ultimately there is nothing the president can do to get more Republicans vaccinated. They are only listening to sources that do nothing but trash him and tell lies about both Democrats and COVID. Teaching Calculus to a cat would be easier.

The Republican's game plan for 2022 is try to hang a large body count on Biden, this article is giving flank support to that strategy. It's pathological. It's even more pathological that they are killing their own voters to do it.

No one has to work hard to make Biden look bad.

More illegal immigrants than Trump at the same point in his presidency, and he still hasn't visited the border. Kamala can't be bothered to give any updates on that even though she's been "appointed" to be in charge of it. ZERO coherent plan on how to deal with the influx of illegal immigrants, so there is a positive feedback loop with more coming.

Colossal blunder of a withdrawal from Afghanistan. Everyone wanted out, no one questions that, but this administration gave a textbook case of how to not do things (abandon your military base first, leave citizens and allies behind, unnecessarily lose American servicemen's lives - we hadn't lost anyone in Afghan in 18 months, etc.). Hell, even his generals are under oath now saying "we told him it was the wrong way".

Highest inflation since Carter administration. Nuff said there. ANY wage gains by the lower class in the past 10 years have been wiped out because of this, and it's only getting started. Most economists are predicting another 12-18 months of similar inflation rates.

The only thing Biden hasn't done as bad as Trump WAS the Cornavirus. They've both been bad, but at least Biden wasn't a denier for a long time.

No, this administration is doing just fine in the "make Biden look bad" department with zero help from Republicans.

Covid depressed immigration in 2020, it's just ramping back up. It's not as if Biden has implemented an open door policy different than Trump. Visiting the border is the most useless thing for Biden to do. "Yep, that's the border". Pointless.
Colossal blunder of a withdrawal from Afghanistan.
It was always going to be a disaster. Obviously he was poorly advised by some military members who expected the government to be somewhat more stable but he did what Trump and Obama failed to do. Ultimately it's better that we're out.
Highest inflation since Carter administration.
Also depressed previously by Covid and rebounding now. I'm not sure what policy you think he implemented that impacted inflation in any significant way.

Are we talking politics in the covid thread now?

Because the mortality percentage is low, they feel that they gain more by riling up their voting base with their lies about covid, than they lose by the deaths of a few of their voters. And yes, it's pathological.

C’mon guys, everyone knows (especially the Washington Examiner) that Trump is the legitimate president, so technically ALL the deaths have occurred on his watch and none on Biden’s! ;)

(In reality, the Washington Examiner wasn’t even able to get the facts straight in the “article” (this is a generous term…as someone would say…the Washington Examiner comes in perforated rolls), as discussed earlier. It’s just making a verifiably false assertion by claiming somehow that there were <353k deaths while Trump was in office. This is clearly incorrect; the number is about 130-150k higher, as calculated above.)

RECALL Newsom! The only positive for Tesla in California is that our stupid governor outlawed gas lawn mowers and leafblowers, and with all the other stupid policies will probably subsidize electric lawnmowers and leaf blowers.... a new market for Tesla!
Politics are not supposed to be discussed here, according to the moderators. You could move to Texas, if you are that unhappy here. I hear that over there, you can go skiing if you drive for 12 hours straight.

I've heard rumors of potential new EV incentives at the federal and state level but can't seem to find anything concrete. I can't even remember where I saw it, but I was reading an article about this week's price increase for Model Y and the article speculated that it was because a new federal rebate of $8000 was going to come into play. The article also mentioned Illinois's EV credit.

Does anyone have more concrete information on this?
Say good-bye to EV incentives and you can personaly thank Sen Manchin (DINO)

The coal rich West Virginia Democrat told the White House he is firmly against a clean electricity program that is the muscle behind the president’s plan to battle climate change.

This will, no doubt, render the program dead.

The global supply chain problem and the pandemic have nothing to do with Biden.
It is a chain of events, but with the White House trying to manage optics is creating a bigger mess and that is more of a local port problem at both the Port of LA (POLA) and the Port of Long Beach (POLB).

I spent 10 years with UPS Worldwide Logistics one element is that current CA emission policies are creating backlogs at the port, combine that with massive turnover in the trucking workforce (>90%), combined with supply shortages and hoarding (seen any ammo lately?), union resistance to vaccines "workouts", strict emissions requirements for equipment at CA ports, diverting the deliveries to ports that aren't used to the massive throughput of containers. This is pretty easy to solve with strong logistics leadership, but we are so mired in bureaucracy that shipping/trucking companies redirecting resources away from California ports, this exacerbates the California backlog. Suppliers and retailers then enter a bidding war for priority distribution to get their stuff and avoid the clogs. This is a perfect storm of disruption in the supply chain aptly called “containergeddon.”

Also who the hell wants a truck that isn't AWD?
