Yes i paid $25 + tax for the Tesla emblem but just left the rest of the lettering off. I would just have the detailer put them back on as I believe they probably pay more attention to detail than even the factory did (surprise :p)

Speaking of debadging, I know in some states it is common for cars to come with a dealer badge. Is this dealer badge a requirement, or is something you can have removed (or better, never put on in the first place)? And how does Tesla deal with this in states that do not allow direct sales?

I don't know of any state taht requires these. Most of the time it's marketting for the dealership itself. A heat gun (or hair dryer) and some floss gets these off in quick order.

I just built it last year. Wasn't an issue driving a GMC Yukon to the office :)

Leave the Yukon parked in front of the office. And park the Tesla in the back.

Your patient's will say "Wow this doc is dedicated! They are is always at work!"

Because of the full Xpel install my badges have been removed, but i plan on putting them back on later after I repaint them. I'm also going to have a chrome delete done.

The PPF shop got me new badges if I ever decide to replace them. Chrome delete is starting tomorrow. Got some of it from RPM Tesla. Your X is the white one in your avatar?

When I dealt with dealers, I always told them I wanted the vehicle to come with no dealer decals. And they left them off for me. It's just free advertising for them, and cheesy as heck.

Nice. Chrome delete was something I told my wife I was going to do from the start, when we were deciding between the midnight silver metallic and pearl white. In the end, white was chosen because of the better contrast with matte black 22"s and eventual chrome delete. And yes that's my X in the avatar.

i say debadge away. i don't see too many debadged X's, mostly S's.

most of the resale S's i see debadged seem to be 60s. something about not wanting to feel inferior or something maybe? i dunno.

Possibly these are older S's, which didn't originally come with a battery size badge at all. By the time 70, 75s came along, they came with badges.

I'm keeping it debadged. Mainly for the reasons stated above but I actually like the clean look of it. New badges that my detailer included are going into storage if I change my mind.

When going to big bear you can slide on installing chains if your car is AWD and you have M+S tires.

Do you need to have the badge to “prove” it’s AWD?

It’s moot for the X but was thinking for the 3.
