Yes, we hear from the Tesla that the older vehicles can't get performance upgrade.

But in other thread, after seeing that inventory, test drive cars built earlier like April can get "uncorked" for speed performance from 5.2 second to 4.2 seconds.

If that is true, then it seems this speed upgrade can be done software update only. Or at least, IMHO a visit to the service center should enable it.

Do you think Tesla will surprise the existing customers with good news?

It seems even older inventory cars can be upgraded, but not over-the-air, therefore there is a cost to Tesla service. It may become a paid upgrade at some point in the future, so if anyone spots it in the Tesla online shop, definitely post it here.
