SAme, 80% of the time I get in my car it shows no connectivity as well. No LTE nothing for a few moments

Ok, just interacted with service on this. Local service asked me to send time/date of occurrences so they could send to intergalactic for diagnosis. I got a text from a central tech saying they confirmed known bug is cause, software fix in release that is in verification stage. They gave me direct email and phone for follow up. I trust this... no idea how long it might take so being patient. My wife had an intermittent startup problem with her 3 last spring, and they fixed with software eventually. Be patient!

PS, where else can you get remote diagnosis and direct email/number for technician? I know Tesla service stretched, but when you get it, it is unparalleled.

I notice your vin is 55xxx. Mine is 157xxx. I have seen the black screen exactly once in ~3300 miles - in the first week. Never since. I wonder if a better poll might be based on vin ranges.

I'd say if you're having lots of black screens and/or reboots something is wrong with the hardware OR you've gotten a bad/partially corrupt patch install and you need to have Tesla totally remove the existing software and reload it from scratch.

What are your credentials? Isn’t the Tesla tech’s diagnosis reliable? I think so. This issue persists thru software updates, so not a corrupted install. Tesla tech has said software fix, so unless proven otherwise, that’s what it is.

I've posted this on other threads, but it seems that 2019.5.4 fixed my black screen reboot issue. I've had the issue since picking up my car in Nov and it got really bad with 2018.50.6 where it would occur almost everytime I got in the car. Hopefully it stays fixed in subsequent updates.

Why did my wife’s 3 have a problem last spring where sometimes PRND didn’t show up on startup and car would stall... which was diagnosed as known bug and fixed by software update?

Root cause may be some hardware tolerance, but fix can still be software.

I got 2019.5.15 a few days ago and have been testing by opening the door in addition to some driving. Probability a couple dozen openings and not a single issue. Screen lit up immediately each time.

I think we can call this fixed.

Nope. Just took delivery of a March 2019 SR+ and this issue has already happened to me twice. I'm on 2019.5.15. VIN is 297k.

The fact that you have a brand new car leads me to wonder if Tesla introduced yet another problem that needs a workaround.

Well, with 2019.5.15 I had my screen reboot while I was driving for the very first time... that wasn't very nice Tesla.

I had this consistently 1-2 times per week, since getting 7.11 on 3/6 has not happened a single time
