POLL - LR RWD actual increase in range, or just software BS?

Do you believe the increased range on the LR RWD is an actual increase, or just software BS?

I usually keep the battery level display at percentage and not range, but when I swapped it over to see what it says now, it shows 290 after charging to 90%. That projects to 322 at 100%. (I remember it was 279 at 90% before, projecting to 310.) I'm on 8.5 and didn't check when it was 5.15. I agree with the majority and don't think they made anything more efficient--just re-calibrated the software to show what the car was already capable of doing.
 
My tires are also struggling for grip when before the update they did not. I'm always hard on the accelerator so I know that's a new thing. I'm old enough to remember when Tesla claimed the Model S 40 had a 160 mile range, which was more like 120 and displayed as 145.
