Poor trunk lighting in the S

I'm new to the car, but I was appalled at the low level of lighting in the trunk - those tiny lights and the black surface coverings just don't cut it. I installed decent lights [using LED strip-lights available on e-bay] and wired them into the feed for one of those 'stock' lights. It even lights the 'pit of darkness' in the floor.

Was this an easy DIY? Would you mind a tutorial? Where to feed into? Thanks looks good!

I replaced the stock lights with the ultra-bright lights from Abstract Ocean. They are just a straight up replacement of the existing lights. Couldn't have been easier, and they make a big difference.

Right, most do this, takes a lot less time than custom wiring things. I did this on my X (complete car, interior, back, frunk) and it’s excellent. Same for door puddle lights (Tesla T).

I believe it’s the most common mod done to the cars.
