Pops, clicks, creaks from windows and doors?

Hello all,

Maybe it's seasonal, because I didn't notice as much in the hot mid-Atlantic summer, but this fall I started noticing a LOT of noise in my 2022 M3 when going over bumps and torquing the car (from speed bumps, driveways, deceleration, acceleration). These noises come almost certainly from where the glass of the windows meets the seals, and possibly also from where the doors meet their seals (perhaps especially in the corners). I say this because slightly rolling down the windows diminishes the noise (closing the windows completely produces one of the noises).

I've wondered whether some kind of sticky "gunk" has accumulated on the windows and or seals, and it does seem that the feel of the windows where they would meet the seals is a bit different from the rest of the window.

Does anyone else have this experience or some thoughts on how to eliminate it? I've tried washing off one window's worth of window seal, and it seemed to help a bit, but I'd like to do something more thorough without harming anything.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Todd

when I’m driving less than 30 mph over an rough pavement, I can hear the driver side glass vibrating against the seal
I have the exact same issue 2019 M3LR.

I have noticed that on rainy days I don’t hear it as much which I think is proof its a window seal issue, the colder dry months the rubber seal isn’t connecting the window glass As well. I ordered the rubber sealant people recommend and will try it out this week.

I’ve already tried tightening the door which didnt help.

Did you fix the issue? I’m experiencing the same

I need to get some of this. My car makes the same creaks from all four doors, service center put WD-40 all over my door seals which was gross, and even then the noises came back.
You need silicone based products for rubber seals. Lots of them available for cheap, or you could get the specialist rubber seal products, not sure how much better they are really.
