Portable Carbon Fiber Curbside Charger

This is a hand-made version of the original curbside charger I built for my Model S. As it’s based on the use of Hubbell pin and sleeve devices, once the Hubbell sleeve is mounted curbside and wired with 240v and 30-50 amps, it’s plug and play.

Basically, a Tesla universal mobile connector is mounted in a carbon fiber sleeve, plugged into a NEMA 14-50 receptacle in the sleeve, which is then wired to the Hubbell pin connector at the base of the tube. The plug side of the connector emerges from the carbon fiber tube from the top, so it can be plugged into any Tesla. When the base is mounted into the sleeve, the universal mobile connector is powered up. When the charger is not needed, it can be removed and moved anywhere one likes, and it’s lightweight and easy to carry with the handles.

Includes Hubbell sleeve and backbox, carbon fiber column tube with Tesla universal mobile connector and red logo, Hubble pin connector at base of tube, removable tube top for access to mobile connector. For security, the cover to the sleeve is lockable and the lock is provided.

To repeat, this portable charger can be used with any Tesla, Model S, X, 3, Y, 2020 Roadster, and Cybertruck. If you don’t have a garage and want to charge curbside it’s an ideal solution.
