Went by Kingston the past Victoria Day weekend, there was no signs of a supercharger being built at the outlets nor beside Panera Bread. Also, didn’t see anything around Division Rd / Dalton.
Yep, passed through yesterday and walked over to the new site from the current one, and there's no activity. The existing install is actually a really good charger when there's only 1 or 2 other stalls being used! 145kw no problem at 15% SOC.
I was at the Panera on Saturday Aug 23rd (while charging across the street) and no construction going on.
Stopped by Yesterday October 23rd. No progress to report. Meanwhile at 2:30pm in the afternoon all existing superchargers were in use. What a busy location.
Unless I am passing by early in the morning or late in the evening (at which time the washrooms in the mall are closed) I do everything I can to avoid Kingston when I drive To - Mtl. I would like to see the stats but I would guess this is one of the busiest SC in Canada (?) based on number of available stalls. Still surprising to me that there has been no progress on a larger install in the area.
Yes it's busy but a well-placed V3 site in Brockville would move the needle more, for my preference. 340km from downtown Toronto. Mostly because the Cornwall SC is so far off the highway and a PITA to walk to much in the winter. At least the existing Kingston site has lots within a few 100 feet.
Agreed. Cornwall is a pain because of how far off the road it is but I routinely get good speeds there even when there are multiple cars charging which doesn’t seem always to be the case for these older sites. Brockville would be a good solution.
Brockville is useful for those going to Ottawa as well. It would be the ideal single stop for my run from Scaborough to Ottawa. Belleville is too close and Kingston is too busy. Brockville would be perfect to get in a good charge and have enough juice to get back to Brockville on the trip home.
Tesla Club of Ontario noted that 2 new stalls are being added at the existing charger. Construction has started already. Anyone in the area?
The existing charger location in Kingston? Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, and even 2 additional stalls will help, but unless Brockville or somewhere nearby gets built, Kingston could double in size and would likely still be very busy.
It might help if they converted these stalls to V3. Going to 8 from 6 aligns with the 4 stalls per cabinet pattern.
