Gotcha... I thought it had been debunked so long ago as having no actual meaning that everyone had ignored it...Nope, they were available for about 20 hours about 5 months ago.

I just looked up my reservation number. Per the electrek article by Frederik Lambert, I searched "RN" in the source code of my page and found this code, which makes me think Tesla short-handed ‘common_reservation_id’ to 'rn':
<td class="model-name">
<a href="/mytesla/profile?rn=RN108475814" class="car-link">
<strong class="car-name notranslate">
I signed up the evening after launch. If you throw out '108' at the beginning of the number, that gives me 475,814 as my possible number, which when you subtract the base as 350,000, puts me at 125,814th in place.
My last call to our Tesla dealership told me that early reservers (non-employees and non-previous-Tesla-owners) were targeted for Q1 2018. Fingers crossed, as my Fiat 500e lease ends mid-Feb. So I could be without a vehicle for a few days/weeks/months???
Please check out and like my blog on driving electric for the first time, which I wrote when I got my Fiat 2+ years ago:

According to your logic and my RN I should’ve already received my M3I just looked up my reservation number. Per the electrek article by Frederik Lambert, I searched "RN" in the source code of my page and found this code, which makes me think Tesla short-handed ‘common_reservation_id’ to 'rn':

You did? Where's the review?According to your logic and my RN I should’ve already received my M3

No, you are waiting for the GM EV1 ... or maybe EV2?If I do that with my reservation number, I get a massive negative number, I guess it means I should get a 2010 Pontiac Vibe!
Exactly. A reservation’s RN I made in Feb 2017 was LOWER than the one I still have from Apr 2016. The RN (refererence number) is random.You forgot to divide by 2.734 and take the square root.
Sigh.
The number doesn't mean anything. It's random.
rn=RN108XXXXXX has always been there. What we were looking at was <input class="ReservationId" type="hidden" name="common_reservation_id" value="37XXXX" and that was last shown in October 2016.
I screenshotted my number before they hid this code... Unfortunately.. I forgot to save it to my new laptop when I upgraded this year. Ugh!rn=RN108XXXXXX has always been there.
