As i read up on preserving and extending the life of an EV battery, the most dominant opinion is to charge to about 70-80% and don't let the charge deplete below 20%. I am not a Tesla owner at this time and I was wondering if there are controls available on the Tesla to cut off charging when it reaches set percentage. My 17 leaf does not have this feature and i try and time it manually. Of course, this is a pain in the rear so i was hoping i can set and forget this on my upcoming M3. The idea is to charge to full when you really need it but most commute days you could charge to no more than 80% to get the most life out of the battery.

    Doable?

This part kind of seems up to you, since you probably wouldn't want the car to stop moving if the SOC hit 19%!
