I haven’t seen anything for SF Bay area today but did hear in the news about Southern Calif being at risk again due to the Santa Ana winds. Here’s what I saw on Southern California. Saw Local patch.com warnings for Beaumont and Chatsworth as well.

Areas Of Santa Clarita Under Consideration For Public Safety Power Shutoffs

Parts of my zip code are under PSPS right now actually (with right now being 630 to 7am on 12/3. My home is not, currently, but my powerwalls have been in stormwatch mode for almost 2 days so far.

My experience with potential PSPS is they enable StormWatch is a very broad area. Much bigger than the PSPS prediction. When they turned it on last time the closest PSPS event to me was 40+ miles away.

I think the issue is that that PSPS can be turned off the power immediately when the Power Company makes a decision. However, batteries take time to charge, so it is better to enable StormWatch in a broader area as defined by NWS Red Flag conditions.

I have said before, but I am in temecula CA and under SCE. A couple of my co workers live in Escondido and San Marcos CA and both have been without power since 8PM last night (SDGE territory). During a (virtual) staff meeting yesterday, I jokingly said "these events help me justify why I got powerwalls to myself". we all laughed. Now, this morning, they are both like "you jinxed us!"

Ask them if they want to come by and borrow a cup of electrons.

I read yesterday about the Bond fire erupting in southern Calif near Irvine and tonight saw CBS News headlines on Apple News that tens of thousands have been evacuated and homes are without power and threatened by Santa Ana winds spreading the fire. I had read one news report earlier today that a homeowner who had lost power was trying to start a generator when it exploded and started the fire. I’m so sorry people are facing this and potential loss once again. Stay safe and please evacuate if ordered to. Too much loss of life from covid and the fires this year.

Thousands flee homes as Bond Fire spreads through Southern California

From another CBSNews article:
Southern California Edison had cut power to more than 52,000 customers by Thursday afternoon and was considering de-energizing lines serving almost 250,000 customers in five counties throughout the windy period, which could last into Saturday., CBS L.A. reported. It was one of the utility's largest precautionary blackouts.

San Diego Gas & Electric pulled the plug on over 55,000 customers as of Thursday evening, with an additional 40,000 potentially being affected.”

“Some residents told CBS LA that because the power had been shut off as a precaution against downed power lines, they had little to no cellphone service and did not receive any evacuation alerts.”

One article mentioned that winds in Northern California are expected to pick up this weekend.

KCBS SFBay area just said that while we have to be careful up here PG&E isn’t anticipating any PSPSs in our area. Good news for all, especially CalFIRE as long as we don’t have any fires ignite.

Well PW went into storm watch and charged my battery from grid. Wasn't anticipating that .. and the sun is pretty decent right now too.
