My friend is looking at some older Model S with the 21" turbine wheels. He found a few but are the silver ones, not the grey ones he likes. Can't he go to a wheel shop to powder coat them grey? Anyone know how much it would cost? He is located in Southern CA.
For powdercoating your Tesla Model S rims, I recommend that you contact Bob Barnes at Verne's Chrome Plating in Gardena. Google them, Yelp them.
Let us know if we can help. Our typical powder coat wheel repair/refinish: 1. Select color 2. Dismount wheels/tires 3. Refinish 4. Mount/balance tires 5. Prep and nano coat wheels 6. Mount and torque to factory spec 7. Perform a modified Phase 1 service We charge roughly $265-295 /wheel for this full-service wheel repair/refinish and it takes about 3-4 days to complete
options I did mine for $25 at lowes. Wheel Kits Obviously they won't look like powder coating will, but I plan to peel this off at trade-in. Just tossing out an option. If I was going to do it again, I'd do gloss black. I can make them look glossy w/tire shine, but it comes off eventually.
