When I hear powder coat I think shiny glossy black. Looks amazing. This is what I wanted but the guy that did mine simply painted them gloss black. Doesn't have the deep shiny glossy look.


80$ per wheel? A guy on craigslist wanted $500 for a set of 19's already powder coated gloss black and I'd also give up my rims! Rip off


Too bad I'm in ~LA or I'd go to the place that did yours

You’re right on. Only bad part is when you get a curb rash holy is it noticeable. I got mine done glossy black and I have some regrets. When it’s wet or freshly washed it’s glossy and looks beautiful. As soon as I drive it a bit the dirt just masks the wheel and makes it look like a cheap matte black plasti dip. Can anyone here comment about their experience with glossy black or did I just get a shitty powder coat job done? Thanks

Ceramic coat your rims. It'll always look fresh! Gyeon Rim ceramic coating.

Yup! He does it on the side and does a great job honestly.

Having mine done on Monday. MS black car. Having wheels done in gloss black with silver shade shifting "bling" in the clear coat.

Helps that I used to own the wheel repair shop before I sold it and retired. Getting great deal...free.

Just had my wheels done today. It’s nearly impossible to capture the true color of the wheels in a photo but this first pic is the best example I have. It’s a really nice dark grey with a bit of pop to it (better looking than the Performance Grey 20” color IMO; the Performance seem a bit dull in comparison).

Car is looking amazing! I’m just now getting a chrome delete on my MSM and want to powder coat the wheels same color as yours. I have a SR+ but my wheel gap seems a lot bigger.. did you have it dropped and if so how much? How’s the ride compared to before? Your car looks

I’m thinking about it. I actually saw the RPM Tesla guy have metallic white on his 19’ sport wheels. Looks interesting, kinda tempted with my multi-coat red.

I still need to ceramic coat them. They get a bit dirty in the rain. The guy at the shop didn’t recommend full-on gloss black since they tend to get scratches after a while. My winter rims are 18” gloss black and they aren’t easy to keep looking clean in the snow.

Winter rims: bought on eBay (before I actually had the car.) I think I like the stone black better. Definitely like the 19”rims better.

I used Cquarts DLUX as featured below. I watched some Youtube videos on application and technique and then gave it a try. It was very simple. I still have like 80% of the bottle left even after coating all 4 wheels including the barrels.

They've held up very well! I'm still liking the color I had them powder coated!

A few curb rash on the rear wheels but had them repaired and repainted but yeah I would highly recommend reaching out to JRWheel to see which finish you want your wheels to be done!

Guys, I’m picking up a set of 19” brand new on Friday. Want to powder them the same colour as the new model S 21” wheels…as well as the centre cap and cover to match. Amazing they are essentially the same wheel but in 19” format for M3.!

I’m picking up a black on black M3 and want the T decals to also match the same colour as the wheels gun metal or charcoal or whatever it is. Figure gun metal decals on black would look classy! No chrome
