Powder Coating 19 inch sport wheels

Hi all-

I know this topic has been discussed before but I couldn’t find any recent dialogue on the topic. Has anybody powder coated their 19 inch sport rims recently? If so what color did you go with. I’m considering a satin/semi gloss black but just digging around before making a decision. Any and all advice/pictures are greatly appreciated!

The 19" sport wheels look good in black on the white Model 3 that everyone's favorite "half Norwegian, half Thai, half German, and half Chinese" dude keeps in Thailand. He say's they've been "painted", but it's probably powder coat. Wheel discussion is at 4:45 in the video.

Hey good thread! Im having my 19” sport rims powdered the carbon colour of the 20” Uber colour. Sort of carbon/pewter? I have a black exterior so love the contrast from carbon/gun metal to black. They will be done around April 4/5th. I’ll post pics. They will also be painting ten centre plastic caps to match. I don’t like black cap on the carbon. Prefer same like the 20” Uber setup. One colour. :)

I didn’t want to go black on black. I also have my T and dual motor decals in pewter gun metal as well. I find it’s a subtle look on black but sport look as well. Pics with oem 18’s for winter.

OK, I am debating the same. In Las Vegas, $800 to get them done. I love my wrap, and everything else has vinyl chrome delete. Now the wheels just stick out to me as the wrong color. I am thinking matte black is the way to go with these. Please update once you get yours done. I am super curious to hear how they turn out.

For my snow tires, I purchased 18" Tesla aero wheels that had been powered coated black by a company called Factory Wheel Republic. The wheels look great, I was very satisfied. It is a much better look than just the grey metal of the aero wheels with the hubcaps removed. They have a whole selection of Tesla wheels (including 19" sport wheels) that are power coated black. Here is a photo of my 18" aero wheels and link where you can see their whole selection including 19" sport wheels...

Those are nice. Just looked at that website, and seems over priced to me.

Seen this M3LR on a post, appears the owner got them close to the New Model S Plaid 21" wheel color - as these look good in a gun metal to light satin black. IMO - just the right color, as too dark or gloss makes the rim look smaller.

Left Wheel on the M3LR is the 2021-2022 Sport 19" Wheel with a similar color to the Plaid's.
Middle wheels is the new Plaid 21" wheel.
Right wheels is the 2021-2022 Sport 19" Wheel Option for the Model 3.

A little more expensive than plastic dip at Home Depot, Dip your car website has a kit in several colors with video instructions on how to spray your wheels. About $100 to do all four wheels in the kit. Best part, if you don’t like it - just peal it off, unlike paint or powder coating.
