Powder Coating Wheels

Just got the my 19" cyclone's done to color match the gray 21" turbines and used Tesla's stock gray wheel caps.

Sorry for low quality phone pic but it's the best daylight shot I could get so far in lovely Seattle February weather

There was still some white gunk/grease on the wheels & tires when I snapped this photo, but I wiped it down a bit afterwards.

I'll try to get some nicer shots when I have the PPF & tint done in about 2 weeks.

morbot, looks great, are you going to change to black lugs nuts??

I bought some black lug nut covers (they apparently just clip on) from Tesla when I bought the center caps.

After getting the wheels powder coated the shop recommended I get the lug nuts torqued 2-3 times in 25 mile increments. So I'm going to put the black caps on tomorrow after I'm done with that.

Those 19 cyclones look great. Has anyone powdercoated 21" turbines or have pics? I never liked the silver but felt the grey were a little too dark...

I had my 21s re-powdercoated because of very annoying road rash. Has them done in a different, darker silver (I happen to like silver) But I don't have photos because they won't go back on the car until the weather warms up. I had my 19" Rial Luganos done in the same color but I'm away from home for a week and the car is under wraps until I return. Will post some photos in a week.

Great! I too like a darker silver, can't wait to see the pics.

The color is called Sparkle Silver and it's slightly darker than the silver Tesla 21" wheels but not dramatically so. The PC has s tiny silver sparkles in the color for a nice but understated effect. I now have the Rial 19"s in that color on the car and I'll take and post some photos when I get home next Sunday.

I just wanted to share some pics of my 21" rims that I bought used and had them powder coated. I got them today and sorry for the dirty car, the weather has been terrible in the past few days. The rims had curb rash but they were totally gone and look brand new now. I liked the original silver so I had them coated with a similar color. The clear coat is more durable and shinier than what they normally use for car wheels. As you can see, they look a bit darker when they are not under direct sunlight, but I think they look OK under the sun.

Per an earlier thread about the rare OEM gray cyclones, I was able to email support and have them update my avatar on the touchscreen, dash, and mobile app to show 19" gray cyclones. Not sure if that's an option for 19" base wheels though.

I also powder coated my 19" Cyclone's and would like to email Tesla support to update my avatar on the touchscreen, dash, and mobile app. Can someone provide me with Tesla support's email address??

Has anyone had their rims (any version, but the more spokes the more obvious) done in shadow chrome (sort of like the name sounds). This was the factory color on my old M5 and I loved it! Hard to see in all these pics, but you might get the idea in a few:

There is, but I think some shadow chrome differs from others. This guy said his was BBS Shadow Chrome, is this the same color as your BMW's? Is it b/c of the lighting that they look so different?

Hi Strengthcoach4,
can you please tell me where did you get this done and if possible the cost?

Thank you

Not sure who he used. I used Wheel Specialists in Tempe 480-222-7207, Dave Sleater.
$1000 for any color/finish and they have loaner wheels, which for me was huge.

I found that my 19" BMW wheels are a direct fit for a Tesla Model S.
Many options available including lightweight forged from my M6
