Powertrain and Coolant System Problem

Based on my limited knowledge of the car, there are at least 19 temperature sensors in a Roadster. And those are just the ones that I know of!
Good point! Even a ten-year-old computer has dozens of temperature sensors, especially if there are multiple variable-speed fans in the case. Computer temperature sensors are typically IC chips that are soldered onto the motherboard. They're very inexpensive, but difficult to replace without replacing the entire board.

I'm sure the Roadster has a combination of stand-alone temperature sensors (for liquids and large mechanical components) and IC temperature sensors (for the PEM or other electronics).
