Powerwall 2 in Florida

@3laine Yes that was the question I had ask them but they can't answer as well. Every time I talk to them, I get different answer, from PW2 supply shortage, to installer not available issue. If it's not because of the $400 difference, I would have cancelled my PW2 reservation.

As of today, I can technically use up all the electricity my PV can produce since I do a bit of crypto-currency mining on the side (I'm still evaluating that hobby). I believe the 30% tax incentive will run out next year. Once all the incentives ran out, a home battery would just not making financial sense because the ROI will be too high.

This will the the last time I respond to the troll, yes, the troll from CA that put his nose in a FL PW2 discussion.

My PV installer didn't push RESU, I reserved my PW2 in Feb 2017, the PV was installed June 2017, they never sway me to cancel my PW2 reservation, in fact I don't know my PV installer could do RESU until 2 weeks ago. Yet the troll accuse that my PV installer PUSH the RESU to me because of commission.

Also, you have proof that "Tesla doesn't do commissions"?

If you look at the discussion here: Software versions for Powerwall 2?
the app get update very often, sometime there is enhancement, some time there is set back. Basically users are being experiment on. It's a legit concern about consistency, and I simply quote the references I read.

Anyway, enough of entertaining the triggered troll for today.

Hey, you are the moron posting false info on a PUBLIC forum. You want to keep posting false info, then yep, I'm a troll for calling you out on your BS.

Your posts simply don't pass the "smell test". Smells like BS, likely is BS.

Reserved my PW2 16 months ago, and just got an "update" from Tesla. My PV installer said they're certified to install PW2 since December 2017:

Thank you for your Powerwall reservation. We are not currently servicing your region, however we will connect you with a Tesla representative as soon as Powerwall becomes available.

In the meantime, your reservation will not be affected by any Powerwall price increases prior to your home installation. If you have any questions, you can contact a Tesla Energy Specialist at (725) 333‑7731.

Best Regards,
The Tesla Team

Curious too if there has been any more progress on any Powerwall installations in South Florida. Sounds like a no.

Who is your installer? And when did you reserve your PW2?
Tesla is doing the install (Solar City Orlando}. I was at the the PW launch event (04/30/15) where I placed a “reservation” and my deposit was processed 10/28/16.

They did my site survey in March and then an “up to 6 mos” delay was conveyed and permitting process delayed due to the improbability of an install prior to expiration of the permits. Then a reprieve in May followed by permitting with which St Lucie County helped greatly by being efficient and timely in the permitting process. FPL was able to wrap it up in just about 3 weeks.

I’ll continue posting as stuff changes.

For reference, we were a Sig family and currently have both MS (2) and a M3. Our house has 12.1Kw Of PV.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Thanks! It's interesting that Solar City will go from Orlando to install PW2 in your area since you're so close to South Florida. My PW2 was reserved Feb 2017. Still no news at this point, and my solar installer is looking into LG eventhough they are already certified to install PW.

I ended up bought a gas generator 3 weeks ago to get through this hurricane season as I don't see battery backup available in South FL for the next 8 months.

i'm near Cape Coral on SW side. been bugging them every few months got this few days ago
(also want PV array)
"..I will reach out again within 6 months once we are ready to start your project.."

Waiting in Orlando with a reservation, had PV panels installed last week... just got an email yesterday that they aren't even providing "soft timelines" at this point until they get more sold information.

I looked into an LG battery as an alternate to the powerwall but I have been told twice by two different people that I have to install their solar system, not a tesla system, if I want the LG battery.

Exactly whom do I have to contact to purchase an LG battery without someone trying to sell me their own solar system?

That's a very nice compact installation. However, I think I see the smudge marks on the wall where the HPWC used to be. The new location is much less ideal. I would be tempted to semi-permanently run the cord along the floor under the Powerwalls and put a Cable Organizer (hanger) near the garage door.

Yea bit less ideal than the original location, but woulda had ta stack the PW’s instead of side by side. Also mounted it on 2x4 material so it’s off the wall a bit and accommodates the cord very well although it’s a bit lower but waist high and still reaches a vehicle backed up to the garage.

Thanx for the idea. Gonna think about that for sure.

Cheers!
