Powerwall in Australia

Updates on Powerwall in AU in some articles below, I assume some TMC members will be early adopters and I am very interested to get any updates... I want to get powerwall+PV and a model 3 or if I win lotto a model X, unfortunately the AU x-rate has probably killed the x dream;-(

looks like we have a little Tesla time again with the first installs not due till next year it seems.

also the natural solar site has been updated https://naturalsolar.com.au/tesla-e...-powerwall-installers-in-australia-announced/

reposted as I did not notice the other thread was not in the ANZ sub forum. Not sure if the 2 threads should be merged and maybe made sticky so we can keep in 1 thread for the next few months until install experiences are posted?

Moderators note.
As requested I have made this thread sticky for a period to see how popular it becomes during the Powerwall roll-out.
My moderation powers do not reach beyond the Aus/NZ section but we can leave the other thread for non Australian posters to complain that it's not fair that Australia is first.

Does anyone know how the reservation system works for this? I filled in the "Reserve" form on the Tesla web site quite a while ago. Do you get contacted by Tesla, or do they feed these "reservations" out to their retailers/power companies? The process seems a bit of a mystery.

(Posting from California, but Powerwall process likely similar). It is indeed a bit mysterious. I made a Powerwall "reservation" the day after the Tesla Energy launch. I have heard nothing, and there seems to be no way to contact Tesla Energy about my reservation.
It appears to me that Tesla will be selling Powerwalls through various renewable energy companies. I suspect individuals cannot buy them direct from Tesla.

Thanks molocom as always a fantastic moderator.

colina I could not find anything from tesla so maybe contact them or one of the retailers directly. Possible they have already identified some existing customers to be early adopters and be part of the Jan installs. I guess supply will be constrained until the gigafactory is formally opened.

ecarfan some announcements indicate that power wall is only available in AU at this stage although others indicate US, Canada and Germany will all get early access.

there are several other articles, pricing seems to start at $13990 for a small 4kw system but depends on the inverter and seems around $1000 per extra kW and I guess around $5000 per extra battery but I have not found anything about multi battery installs.

Try off grid energy.

No luck, it would seem to be only for new solar installs at present. This is what their web site says...

Solahart are advertising that you can buy a Powerwall for new or existing solar systems.

I did send of an email enquiry a few weeks ago but haven't heard back yet!

Thanks, I just phoned them and whilst they dont have details for existing installs yet, they said they are looking at installs into existing solar installations starting late February. They are going to call me when they have details.
