I noticed in the FAQ/Support area, there is a new Installation Manual dated April 20, 2020 as noted on the last page.

Appendix D, Page 50 of the installation manual shows a new Powerwall feature coming: Load Shedding

This is effective April 16, 2020. It is interesting that it is not applicable to off-grid Powerwall systems. I wonder if existing systems can be retrofitted.

Hopefully there is some smart programming to accommodate the new feature in the future akin to Vehicle Charging During Power Outage.

For example for an AC Unit:

Grid State 1 = On Grid
Home Electric Loads = Any Load --> Load Shed = No. AC as normal

Grid State 2 = Power outage with Powerwall above energy threshold or surplus solar
Home Electric Loads = Low Loads --> Load Shed = No. AC as normal
Home Electric Loads = High Loads --> Load Shed = Yes. AC is off

Grid State 3 = Power outage with Powerwall below energy threshold
Home Electric Loads = Any Load --> Load Shed = Yes. AC is off​

This could also apply to a pool pump or well pump as well. Though one could install a wireless module to do the same thing.
