Not true unless the grid is nearly 100% renewables at the time you are storing

I expect that is likely with the new Time-of-Use variable rates - they will be encouraging use when production is high (and thus likely that renewalables will be curtailed if not used)

Daytime when sun-shining and wind-blowing is likely to become the cheapest rate.

At present it is common to have more PV output then is useable within the home at times when the grid is not curtailing renewables
