@Soap Were you able to take some pics to show us the after shots?
I got a text earlier today that the car will be ready for pick up tomorrow morning. That being said, I don't believe the emblems will be back on it yet, and I still have to bring it back 2 weeks later to take care of any remaining bubbles and to trim/heat shrink the edges. I assume they are not doing that already to give any extra moisture a chance to escape? Really did not expect this to be such a 'process' to be honest and am definitely a little frustrated.

To clarify he's had to take the car to mob 2 times. The first time there was some mistakes made. So he's on round 2 of trying to get things perfected.

It's safe to say me having to come far away I dodged a bullet. But I hope they can get it resolved and back to you soon.

What are the issue's that you had or are having?

What are the issue's that you had or are having?

Had issues with ppf alignment on front bumper, front passenger fender, ppf damage on passenger mirror cap due to over stretching/working the film, unexpected seam on back on either side of spoiler, spoiler detaching with gaps.

I just picked it up and while the ppf is acceptable on the pieces that were replaced I still need to keep an eye on a few things from now until I take it back at the end of next week to get multiple edges trimmed/heat shrunk. As far as the spoiler, it's still lifting up but not as bad as it had been in some places. I would have expected it to have been taped down while it cured instead of being parked in the sun where it was naturally going to heat up and start to 'release'. I was told the first attempt at re-attaching it failed due some of the old adhesive not being fully removed. (SMH) Also found out they had not used this SunTek 'reaction' film before and found it to be pretty difficult to install vs the 'ultra'. The fact that I was told not to wash the car makes it a little difficult to really give it a good look over to some degree.

Edit: Spoiler is lifting more last I checked.

Hey guys - just bought a Model 3 and loving it. I was about to pull the trigger on this shop, but all the chatter is giving me some hesitation. Are all of these 'standard' problems I can expect from any shop or are these anomalies. Are there other shops in Houston / Austin that would have more experience and less likelihood of these issues? I'm looking to do a tint, wrap, coating of my rims, and blackout on my tail lights (if I can find a legal solution). Thanks!

So I contacted a bunch of PPF companies in Houston and I narrowed down to two. Auto film specialist is one of them and John Gray with Gulf coast auto shield. Gulf coast was recommended by a member and of all the reviews said he’s pretty good. He’s also cheaper than AFS. So I probably going go with John. My buddy has his done at AFS and AFS has PPF pre cut so some of the edges are not cover all the way on the full front PPF. AFS looks really good on my buddy Model Y. AFS does online form quotes price is on the high side but align with most PPF companies! John said PPF is wraped around all possible edges.

I think it's a case by case scenario. While some places may be more experienced than others in PPF, there are times where things aren't perfect that require touch up's. As long as the shop goes above and beyond to make things right. I, Personally haven't had any issues with MOB. However, I haven't done PPF with them just yet.
