PPF Installer asked if I wanted them to remove Tesla emblem????

Is it recommended to pickup a Tesla emblem for the hood so that they can remove the original to get a cleaner install of the ppf??

I chose to have it taken off and bought a new one from Tesla. It’s on back order but I’m going to have Tesla install it because they have a template to install it back perfectly. It’s going to cost $70 approximately. PPF installer is reimbursing for $30.

I was under the impression that the model y had a hole in the hood under the emblem so you can't just remove it and leave it off. This would also make it much easier for anyone to reinstall it in the correct place though.

The first 2-3 of months had holes, the remainder do not. Not sure on exact cut off, but something like that. It was posted here in another thread on wrapping, detailing.

My Y looked naked without the front emblem. I had the emblems put back on once the PPF was complete

I kept the T's but had them painted - removed the other.

My installer had no problem using the T's over again. They look perfect and I assume they'll hold long term (but it's only been a couple weeks so far). The dual motors rear badge had to be purchased and re-installed. Apparently it's almost impossible to get it lined up correctly to reuse it...
