PPF proper installation question - not wrapped around edges is normal?

Not sure this helps, but go look at the web site (and linked You Tube videos) of my local preferred expert Joe at OCDetailing:

and see how you do wraps right. No visible edges or seams.

This is not correct. As posted above, unless you remove panels, you will always see edges. Other than panels that open, like doors and hood. A good installer will minimize the edges with a custom cut; but you’ll still see them.
 
I've got the pre-cut and you cannot see the difference from a couple of feet away. You have to run a finger to find the edge at arm length distance. On close examination you can see it. As I drive all highway, I'd rather save the money and get it redone after five years as road debris ultimately takes its toll.
