Let's ballpark and say it takes a human about 10 seconds to process each gift (includes receiving packages from a bulk printer company, unboxing, stuffing paper/cardboard into printer, delivering to post office/courier, etc. etc.). That's 6 per minute, 360 per hour. A workday might be an 8 hour shift. That's 2,880 per person day. Let's say they hired 4 temp workers to do this job. That's just over 34 days for 400,000 packages. Call it 7 weeks. Add a week for shipment. They will be here soon. Not to worry people!
Automation? pffft.
I'm just thrilled that they even decided to do this in the first place. Some of the attitudes from people about receiving something so simple is appalling. Does Tesla request it be returned when you decide to cancel your reservation? Nope. I betcha this whole gift giving cost them over $1,000,000USD.
Don't be too quick to complain. Those of us who were S early adopters would get an annual gift from Elon followed shortly thereafter by a notice of a price increase
