I bought Prealpina roof bars which came with attachments which specifically state they are for model 3 2019+ (I got mine in 2021). They seem to fit OK but I watched some videos on the Tesla rood bars and I see that the metal "hook" of the Tesla bars that fits into the slot on the roof seems to be only about 1 - 1.5 inches across. The Prealpina ones seem to be almost 2-2.5 inches across (I mean the length going from front to back). They seems to slot in OK and feel pretty secure but now I am wondering if this might damage the roof. The fitting does not seem to be touching or pressing on the glass so I cannot see how it can possibly crack the glass, but I read a post where someone had a cracked glass only after putting a heavy box on. Is it OK when the metal that goes into the slot is almost 2.5 inches? Has anyone else used the prealpina fittings?
