2014 P85+ see config in signature. Put up for sale when i had the subframe replaced. Asked $37; 10 offers in 10 minutes cash. So pricing was correct. 2nd DU at 75k miles, subframe at 98k, original rev B battery. 240miles rated at 100%. MCU2 upgraded.

Tried to order a Ford lightning (my coworker got one of the first, it's awesome) then i see orders closed. Ohh well For Sale taken down. Thinking of keeping her for real and giving to my twins in 3 years with new battery pack and AP 1.0 upgrade from Wk057.

Slow supercharging, so what, its FREE, FREE, FREE;

CCS upgrade? Still coming to this model someday. Woot!.

That seems super high for a 2014 P85.

Must be a California thing.

it may be, this weird overpriced used car thing, but its returning to normal. I'm curious the value of free superchaging, motor swap, and battery swap on residual value. I know the MCU2 was worth it.
I've found that none of that has any impact whatsoever on resale value of S's 2015 and older, especially pre-AP1 cars. 🤷‍♂️

Free supercharging is one of the most overhyped things, too. Sure it's cool to have if you have it, but I wouldn't ever spend any extra money on a car just because of this. My wife's 3 has almost 100k miles and quite a few road trips. Think we're still under $500 in supercharging costs in almost 5 years. Free supercharging is hype.

Again, most normality doesn't really seem to apply in California, though, where literally everything costs 42x as much as anywhere else. So who knows.

Just an update, but i went with the car- no other teslas at the price range i was in had PPF or even front ppf- this one had it installed over the entire body- including headlights and whatnot, and was loaded.

Ended up at 43.5k for it, which im happy with.

I recommend reading the recent thread: Vendor - Preventative Maintenance regarding Battery Failures in early Model S vehicles (2012-2014)

Basically, it describes a design flaw in 2012-early 2015ish cars where the A/C system dumps condensate directly on top of the battery pack, and the early battery packs weren't watertight enough, leading to battery failure due to water ingress.

This car likely has the A/C drain pbm; so then it would depend upon whether the HV battery replacement got you a later pack that was better designed to resist the water. Read the thread to figure out how much risk you feel prepared to take on regarding the HV battery; whether you're willing to address the A/C drain issue, etc.
I definatety will see if i can get this done at a body shop for the re-routing of the A/C drain so it doesnt go on top of the battery, i appreciate ya making us aware of this ✌🏻

It's a beautiful car for sure. Back in 2017 I had my heart set on a used car just like this. I even placed a deposit. The + really had me even though I knew tires wouldn't last at that size. Then with excitement, I went to a show room to nose around only to find a new 75 RWD was about as fast as the P85 and at a similar price. We also found out the car we put a deposit on was a Tesla salvaged car bought by a dealer and repaired. Probably won't S/C. We received our deposit back. Moral of the story, I was going to make an emotional purchase that would have not been wise. Sometimes that's what we do because we like it, not because it's a good deal. There are indicators that the used car market is cooling off. Give them an offer that they cant' refuse that you will be happy at.
Yeah, this was slightly emotional on my end since when i own something i want it in new-condition for as long as possible. The previous owner did the same.

As for the wheels, i’ll probably replace them with 19’ slipstream OEM wheels (satin black)- smoother ride and more longevity is something i prefer even tho these wheels look great

Hey @wk057 i read up on the thread on preventative maintenance for 2012-2014 MS models, would there be a way to communicate you want the A/C Drain line extended to outside the vehicle so it doesn't drain onto the battery pack to an Auto body shop? perhaps maybe none in Washington would want to this to begin since most dont like touching teslas. However maybe if its explained as a relatively none-intrusive procedure (which it is but I'd rather have a professional do so) they'd be willing to do so? and what type of shops specifically, mechanics, auto body shops, collision centers?

That’s worth a lot in your case! Great to have for 2014. So the previous owner recently purchased that?
I purchased it myself since it only expired may of this year and was under a small auto broker ran by the owner- that’s how i got a hold of the vehicle, local and small with a good reputation from the looks of things- the extension was offered so i took it to be extra safe

The extended extended service agreement (ESA) that was offered by Tesla and as referenced by @wk057 and to be purchase no later than the original 4 yr/50k mile original warranty expired. So with the additional 4 years of the Tesla ESA the total coverage was only up to 8 years from purchase of the vehicle. That's why the Tesla ESA does not cover the battery as the battery was already covered for a full 8 years from the original purchase as part of the original OEM warranty coverage.

For this 2014 vehicle pre AP1 vehicle, if the Tesla ESA had been purchased, it would likely have expired or would be expiring in just a few months as I expect it was put in service before the end of 2014 or very early 2015 at the latest. Some form of extended protection plan by some third party source is really the only plausible option that @Tempbow had included with their purchase.

Your AC drain might have been retrofitted by Tesla at some point or it might have came with the new hose from the factory. My 2014 p85+ has the new extended hose. You can easily check by removing the frunk tub.
i’ll have that done prior to having the car in to get this work done- only one shop is willing to do this job for me- altho they have another job they listed (optional but confused as to what it is). Want to know if anyone here has any information on “Front luggage compartment R&R” is quoted for

I think that’s just their labor to remove and replace the frunk compartment shell in order to access the drain, etc. Make sure this company is legit and knows how to work on a Tesla.

Yeah, they work on sports cars.. however unsure if they have proper experience with teslas. I tried going the tesla SC route but cant get past their Bot so i keep getting re-scheduled
