Held in Seaside as a "thank you to our Roadster owners for the continued passion and support in accelerating the future of sustainable energy." Roadster owners got to park in the lot where they had a Model S and X on display - and then even though the invitation said there would not be a Model 3 on display, John MacNeill and Franz Holzhausen arrived in their Model 3s (Franz with family in tow), so all four Tesla models were in one place:
Model 3 VINs 33 (left) and 10:
John and Franz both spoke for a bit, thanking Roadster owners for believing in Tesla at a crucial point in time:
Model 3 does not have a "Model 3" badge anywhere. Franz said he wanted to keep the lines clean.
Model 3 Interior:
Frunk:
Model S and X owners will be interested to hear that Tesla is working on a software update to use the front camera(s) to support dashcam functionality. Some early Model S's without any AP hardware won't have this option.
Franz was very much the rock star, not only for his personality and comments, he took questions from the audience and graciously signed the mini-poster of his Tesla vehicle sketches (Models S, 3, & X) and posed for pictures:
All in all, it was a good casual event with good food and drink, and we all appreciated Franz and John taking time on a Saturday to show up unexpectedly. The Roadster owner goodie bag contained the mini-poster, a car mug, and an Alpaca scarf, great for driving on cool evenings with the top off.
