That is exactly what I was planning to do (4D plates), would also be interested to know if they would fit.

The Tesla holders are pig ugly. a lot of people get rid of them. you can do away with the rear one and just stick the plate on directly and for the front either go vinyl stick on or canablaise the holder to get rid of the bits you don't need.
there are thead's on it but if you might do it now is the time to think about it when you are buying plates

To be honest I purchased a different number plate holder so the question never arose.
