Private registration plates

I have just removed my private VRM from my vehicle and hold it on retention so I can put it on my Tesla.
Can I give Tesla the certificate number and details so the plate can be added by them or do I change it later myself?

You need to do it yourself after you get your V5 a few days after collection/delivery

Tesla might be able to make plates up for you if you ask nice (they are thin aluminium so fit easily in the existing clip holders, ordinary 'plastic' plates won't or might if you are lucky) - you will need the v750 for that and cost will be dependent on who you deal with. Halfords and some other suppliers may be able to supply the same thin aluminium plate made by Hills
