Process to Transfer EV Plates in Illinois

Hello,

Im currently in the process of selling my 21 M3 LR to Vroom per the high value and purchasing a 22 M3 LR. My question is in regards to the process of transferring my current EV plates to the new car.

1. Has anyone else done this?
2. Does Tesla take care of this or do I have to?

Any info given would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, but with carmax. Just keep your ev plates and tell Tesla to transfer. They will take care of and transfer ev plates and adjust fees to transfer fee vs new plates.
