Is there a way to check on the production time of my Model S once I know the VIN#?

You can check your "My Tesla" page every day.

Mine came in from automatic e-mail:

We went through this two months ago with our new S 100D.

During production, there are two primary information sources - the website and e-mails - and they aren't always consistent.

The website showed our car went into production late Friday. But we didn't receive an e-mail until Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning we received an e-mail showing production was completed - and it took several days before the website reflected that.

And then we went into the EPA hold - when Tesla had the car at our local Service Center, ready for delivery, and we had to wait another 3 weeks before Tesla was allowed to sell us the car. And that was never documented by either an e-mail or on the website.

And, calling Tesla's HQ, Service Center or Delivery Specialist, does not always provide accurate information either.

Seems like Tesla is still experiencing growing pains. And while they try to be as transparent as possible in providing updates as your car goes through production - they still have some rough sports on providing up-to-date status, something they should address before the Model 3's hit production in much higher volume.
