Any else ridden in one of these in downtown Rome? They're used on routes that go through some of the very narrow twisty streets. They only seat a few people and with standees maybe 15 or so. We rode them a few years back and they were great, very silent, but the driver could still make crazy maneuvers and throw the passengers all around the interior with ease.
Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the wireless charging thread but this is news about Bombardier testing out electric buses charged wirelessly at the bus stops. First test will be in Montreal next winter and then in another city in Germany in 2014.
They have been testing inductively charged electric buses for 10 years now? That is interesting. I was mistakenly under the impression that the field testing of this technology was only in the early stages.
Nice I think all bus should be electric. In Rome bus are very much responsible for pollution and once on a while cars are stopped in Rome because pollution overtakes the limits set by UE.
