PTO for SDG&E - Authorization to receive customer info?

I got yet another document to sign for PTO. This one is an SDG&E form that's asking me to authorize Tesla to be able to:

Request and receive billing records, billing history and all meter usage data used for bill calculation for all of my account(s), as specified herein, regarding utility services furnished by the Utility.

Request and receive copies of correspondence in connection with my account(s) concerning (initial all that apply):
Verification of rate, date of rate change, and related information;
Contracts and Service Agreements;

for one year from now. Why does Tesla need this information post install for a year? If anything, this info may be needed pre install to properly size the equipment.

I replied back to the person sending the document but assume others have seen this request and may have an answer. Sometimes replies from Tesla is hit or miss and I've never had any conversations with this contact.

Thanks.

Perhaps there is a requirement in your plan for Tesla to verify actual performance of the system to SGD&E to fulfill their reporting requirements. And I think there are some data requirements to get your tax credit.

I am pretty sure I saw a similar requirement in one of the big docs we signed as part of the generation agreement with our electric company, PG&E.

This data (the usage data) was a requirement of SGIP. If you are trying to get an SGIP rebate, then that would explain it.
I got them through Tesla so no SGIP that I'm aware of.
