Putting on and Removing bikes from Roof rack (model 3)

Those of you who have roof racks, how easy/hard is it to get the bikes on/off? Do you open the door to step up to lift them up onto the rack, or do you have a step stool. Is there high probability of scratching the car and or glass?

My advice: don’t drop the bikes on the glass...

I think it really depends on your strength, height, and the bikes weight. A very tall, strong person with a lightweight road bike will be much different than a short weaker person with a fat tire mountain bike.

I’m 5’4” I lower windows, open doors and step up on frame

No issue for me. I'm 5'9" and often have up to three bikes on the roof. Unlike my last car I don't need to step into the car to fit or remove the bikes. I wouldn't want to drop one on the glass, but I never wanted to drop one on the painted metal roof of previous cars either. My bet is the glass roof won't scratch as easily and is renowned for its strength.
