I better try mine out. I can honestly say I’ve not touched my brake pedal whilst the car’s been moving yet. 350 miles in and it’s been all done on regen
It's great, one pedal driving, isn't it? Don't go too long without giving your brakes a good exercise, though, especially in winter. An occasional emergency stop on a quiet road will keep the discs and callipers up to scratch (no pun intended!).

Just an update on my airbag warning light from a few posts back.

Finally got around to setting up the wife’s key/phone/profile up today as it’s the first time she’s driven it - and strangely the airbag warning light was no longer on. I initially thought it was maybe a profile issue (maybe I’d changed a setting or something on my profile without realising) but when I’ve switched back to my profile later on to drive home, the airbag warning light is no longer on.

Gonna keep my eye on it of course. Service appointment is booked in for Friday 23rd but will cancel if it doesn’t occur again.

On a different note, has anyone solved the issue of the car entertainment thinking it’s in the Netherlands? YouTube ads are in Dutch which is fine, but couldn’t use the iPlayer app on Tesla TV as you need to be in the UK. 1st world problems granted but still…would be good to get it resolved.

Re: Dutch entertainment

Connect your Tesla to your phone’s wifi hotspot. The SIM card inside the car is registered in the Netherlands so there’s no setting that allows you to switch regions.

Re the airbag light…

I presume when you change the profile and your wife drove, the position of the seat was moved. Then moved back when you got in.

to me this suggests that there might be a bad connection with the plug under the seat which is involved in the airbag warning circuit. I’ve had this on 2 other cars (not Tesla) both times traced quickly to a half unplugged connection under the driver seat. On both occasions (Renault Zoe and Fiat Motorhome) the plug in question was orange.

so if you’re so inclined, have a grovel around under the drivers seat to see if you can see an orange connector and make sure it’s all snugly together.

Put in a service request they will fix it remotely.

Hi all,

Had delivery last Tuesday 13th. Prob will sound as a snob but here is my findings:
Cons:
Ride quality appalling for 60k car - stearing wheel weight does not change much regardless comfort or sport selected, every single tiniest imperfection passed to cars body - very jumpy. Had to do some quicker overtake on the round and the car lost it composure on straight road - had to balance it out even suspension seems to be harsh sports alike.
The stearing wheel vibrates when heating fans runs at 5 or above.
Can't set heating seats to time out after few minutes.
Sound quality - seems can't do proper suround - it always sounds as it's coming from front panel.
Expected new updated car with new suspension/back seats and back belts cover sorted --- as never cars has soft clamshell to mitigate rattling.
No memory seating for passenger - not a big one but irritating
Back seat middle section very hard.
Side mirrors smallish
Regen braking cannot be adjusted
Noise from suspension

Pros:
USS present and have not been disabled after 2 software updates
Acceleration seems nice
Overall nice screen size
I guess phone/PC tricks which cost nothing to tesla
Wireless phone charger
Boot space

Anyone tried to get Tesla to retrofit updated suspension/back cover for rattling seatbelts by Tesla?
This may upset some Tesla owners but it feels work in progress rather than complete product. And yes I test drove the model y but it seems it was performance version which has lower but more compliant suspension. As main irk is the suspension for this car. This is ain't low cost car but feels massively let down by suspension. Go test drive Audi e Tron q4 or Mercedes eqc or kia ev6 - these feels more complete products tho lacking in range or boot space.
Any other people feels same for pre-update car? Still puzzled how come I got pre-updated one delivered on 13th of December....

What do you mean pre-update? Do you have USS?

You don't sound like a snob at all, your opinion is just that and it should be welcomed on a discussion forum

Yes got USS( I guess to do it's being older version with matrix headlights) and latest 2022.45.25 software with apple music. Parking sensors seems to be one of the best ones - can't seen logic why it's being removed apart cost savings.

Well pre-updated - the cars with out USS gets updated suspension and rear seats + bit between back doors and seats in soft clamshell to fix rattling seatbelt. And yes vision*** updated cameras...

So some trade off - I can live with out moaning about back seat and rattling seat belts(this prob 10£ fix by adding some self adhesive padding) but suspension seems to be big issue. Unless it needed some bed in... Tho done 170miles already

I'd heard the ride in a Y was a bit questionable, but sounds like the steering wheel vibration is a fault. I'd get that booked in.

Can you not alter the regen in the settings to roll, as opposed to hold etc?
The Regen well yes and no. It still does Regen all the time when you lift the feet from accelerator - if you got people prone with motion sickness in car that's big issue and it rolls back excessively if you set to roll*** on inclined roads. It's just not something we used to as it seems does not have hill assist that would keep car standstill for few seconds while you lifting feet between brakes and accelerator. As when set to roll to engage brake hold you need to depress brakes where with hold selected in options it auto holds when stopped with out the need of depressing brakes. And there is no adjustment like other manufacturers has.
I would say above you can get used to... But never less it's irritating

Does this not help?

Hold: Maximizes range and reduces brake wear by continuing to provide regenerative braking at speeds lower than with the Creep and Roll settings. When Model 3 stops, the brakes are automatically applied without you having to put your foot on the brake pedal. Whether stopped on a flat surface or a hill, Vehicle Hold keeps the brake applied, provided your foot remains off the accelerator and brake pedals. See Vehicle Hold.
Vehicle Hold can continue to apply the brakes even after you remove your foot from the brake pedal. When driving on a hill or on a flat surface, brake as you normally would. After coming to a complete stop, simply press the brake pedal again (until the touchscreen displays the Vehicle Hold indicator light) to enable Vehicle Hold. You can then release the brake pedal and remain stopped, even on a hill.

Gray icon of an H in a circle.
This indicator displays on the touchscreen whenever Vehicle Hold is actively braking Model 3.
To disengage Vehicle Hold, press the accelerator pedal or press and release the brake pedal.

Yes they are, but as an additional measure it looks like they suggest the below, which is what i've been doing as well (probably my "specialism" kicking in. 🙃 ) It does no harm and certainly will defrost the rubber. I've done it veryday since I picked up last Wednesday as it's been -umpteen since I got it 🤷‍♂️

It takes 10 secs, if that, to do it when you're parked up for the night, so I thought, why not

Wipers

If you expect snow or ice to build up when parked, touch Controls > Service > Wiper Service Mode. This raises wipers against the windshield so they can defrost when the windshield defrosts (see Wipers and Washers). You can also turn on wiper defrosters (if equipped). See Climate Controls.
Why don't they do this automatically when temp is below 2c or something, at least that would be useful, unlike all the other things they force on you and it makes sense given broken wipers would really mess up with vision, which is essential for FSD not to work

26th Nov pickup - done about 800 miles and love the car.

Finally got my home charger installed today so now I can enjoy charging at a much cheaper rate.

I had my first bit of alarming road rage the other night, without going too much into it, I parked up on a kerb to let oncoming traffic (around 5 cars) through as I knew in the snow the car would be fine.

Had a guy in a Range Rover obviously in a rush and was swearing, beeping, swerving in and out.
Got given all kinds of racial abuse. - luckily the dashcam recorded everything and I’m thinking of sending it to the police.

Other than that, I’ve accidentally kerbed 2 of the wheels (both at the SAME location) I was driving into a supercharger (in Maidstone) it’s one of the few which are drive in’s rather than reverse and 2 wheels were kerbed.

Really annoying as I honestly think USS would of saved me…
The damage isn’t too bad, but will look at repairing them in the summer

Hope everyone’s experience is going well, still the novelty has not worn off at all

My car updated overnight with the latest Apple Music, UI cards update. Dropped the wife at work, then when I got home, my app said an update was ready to install? Went ahead with it anyway. Just noticed my app now displays my car with the correct alloys now. Happy Days.
