A passenger was unfortunately killed in a one car Tesla crash last night in the Laurentides region of Quebec.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the accident. The driver was arrested after being treated for minor injuries.
Speculation on my part is that having summer or all-season tires was a factor as well since it was below 0C at the time. From the images, it appears the S has 21" wheels and drivers in Quebec typically switch to 19" for their Winter tires. This is not an absolute rule, though.
The press is not concentrating on the vehicle being a Tesla. Perhaps because there was no fire despite the violent exit of the road. Also, the fact the victim is the son of a notorious construction Quebec magnate will attract more local attention than the make of the car
